FINE FINISH insulating resins and varnishes are widely used in various types of rail vehicles, including passenger, freight, suburban railways, and metros, for the insulation and protection of DC traction motors, alternators, reactors, and auxiliary equipment. These materials help to prevent electrical arcing, corrosion, and other forms of damage that can affect the performance and lifespan of the equipment.

For DC traction motors and alternators, epoxy-based insulating resins and varnishes are commonly used due to their high electrical insulation properties, good adhesion to metal surfaces, and resistance to heat and vibration. These materials are applied as a liquid and cured to form a solid protective layer around the motor windings and other components.

In addition to insulating resins and varnishes, FINE FINISH products include other types of protective coatings and materials may be used in the manufacture of sub-assemblies of traction machines, such as encapsulating and potting compounds, conformal coatings, and electrical composites.

These materials help to provide additional protection against mechanical stress, vibration, and environmental factors, and can improve the overall performance and reliability of the equipment.

Fine Finish is the first industry to indigenously develop all the products required for the DC traction system and are the approved vendors for RDSO, CLW and other railway workshops across the country.

We have now established Motorette Testing Facility as per IEC 60034-18-31 for the determination of class temperature of Traction Motors systems.
